Position : President NLAOT
Bio : Hello, my name is Melissa Wiseman, President of NLAOT for 2016-2017. I graduated from Dalhousie University School of Occupational Therapy in 2003. I have worked in acute care, community practice and I have spent the majority of my career, 10 years, working in vocational rehabilitation. I am currently employed with Eastern Health as the OT Clinical Lead for Occupational Health and Rehabilitation.

Name : Sarah Hodder
Position : Public Relations
Bio : Hello! My name is Sarah Hodder. I have been a part of the Public Relations committee for 3 years, and recently joined the NLAOT executive as the Public Relations chairperson.

I attended Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN), completing a Bachelor of Kinesiology (Co-operative) in 2009. I then went on to complete a Master's of Science in Occupational Therapy, graduating from Dalhousie University in 2011. Since graduating, I have thoroughly enjoyed working in acute care practice in St. John's, NL, mainly in the area of Orthopedic Surgery.

I am committed to the profession of Occupational Therapy, and love working to promote and celebrate OT. I am excited to be a part of the executive team, and look forward to contributing as much as possible!

Name : Janice Pelley
Position : Treasurer
Bio : Hi my name is Janice Pelley. Originally from Quebec and a graduate of McGill University, I have been working as an occupational therapist in Newfoundland and Labrador for the past 20 years. My current clinical practice is in the area of burns and plastics for Eastern Health, specializing in hand therapy. I have been a past volunteer for NLAOT as treasurer and education committee member, and have served as the chairperson of NLOTB.

Name : Sarah Burt
Position : CAOT Board Representative
Bio : My name is Sarah Burt and I am currently the Newfoundland and Labrador representative on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists. I have volunteered with NLAOT in the past, in the role of secretary.

I graduated from Memorial University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science (Biology). Knowing I wanted to work in healthcare, I began to explore various career opportunities and realized quickly that I wanted to pursue Occupational Therapy. I graduated from Queen’s University in 2008 with a Masters of Science (OT). Since then, I have worked in Newfoundland in several practice areas, in both urban and rural areas. I am very passionate about home care, especially working with seniors to allow them to maintain their independence in their own homes. I have been working in St. John’s with Eastern Health in the Home and Community Care Program since 2011.

Position : Secretary
Bio : Hello, my name is Joanne Martin. I joined the NLAOT executive as Secretary in 2012. I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy Program at Queen's University in 2001. I have worked in several areas of practice including acute care, adult rehabilitation, occupational rehabilitation and ergonomics. I currently work in Long Term Care at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility. Name : Dave Mercer
Position : Communications Liaison
Bio : Hi, my name is Dave Mercer. I joined the NLAOT executive in the position of Communications Liaison in October, 2016. I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Memorial University. I later completed my Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy at Dalhousie University. My work experience as an Occupational Therapist has included Long Term Care and Acute Care and I am currently employed by Eastern Health as the Occupational Therapist for the Cardiac and Critical Care Program.
